On Saturday evening, a woman from Selma died in a two vehicle accident in Dallas County.
According to the authorities the accident happened three miles west of Selma on Alabama State Route 14 near mile marker 112 at around 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. Tamera Rena Billingsley Mayo, aged 44 of Selma was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix and for reasons as yet unknown she collided head-on with a 2013 Mercedes-Benz being driven by 52 year old Valerie England of Marion.
Mayo was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. England and her two passengers were seriously injured and were airlifted to hospitals in Birmingham. Their conditions are not known.
The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State police.
